2011 will be another year of on-going improvements for SonoSoft EMR, so we decided to start a blog as a way for you to keep up to date with news and features in development. HHS Certification is our primary goal along with implementing additional requirements for "meaningful use." We are scheduled for certification testing in April this year, so be sure to check back for more details as that time approaches we wouldn’t want you to miss out on that GOVERNMENT REBATE! We have been working closely with a number of companies to bring you the features that we have had requested the most including E-Prescriptions, patient portal access and electronic internet faxing!

Each of these items are being implemented to assist you with your practice, make SonoSoft your one stop system for all your clinical needs and ensure that we save you time!

  • You will be able to send prescriptions to a patient's preferred pharmacy or authorize refills electronically with through SureScripts. This service uses connects to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange making e-prescribing safe and efficient.
  • Concord faxing service will be integrated with SonoSoft allowing incoming records to be added directly into the patient's chart and sent straight from Microsoft Word.

           Concord has been working directly with Microsoft for around a decade and they offer THE most reliable faxing system available to date.

  • A CareApps patient portal will be available for use with the iPhone, allowing patients to access a summary of their diagnostics and treatment information.

 

A new product that will be unveiled at the AVF (American Venous Forum) will be our new EPIC (Electronic Patient Information Capture) System. This will allow patients to enter their own demographic, insurance and medical history information on a tablet PC while they wait to be seen by the physician. When finished, their complete patient history will be electronically uploaded through wireless communication to their unique patient record within SonoSoft. We will also be making use of the extended abilities of the tablet by allowing the patient to sign their consent forms and any other documents needed at the same time. Because it’s integrated directly with SonoSoft, all this information is dropped directly into the patient’s chart!
